Who can access it?
Wired access is primarily available for regular faculty, visiting faculty, staff, and grad students with office assignments. The Economics Computing Services (ECS) team can register your desktop or laptop for wired access in Office rooms and Classroom 327 in the Social Sciences building and Grad House only.
Restrictions
If your device is running any End of Life Windows OS or macOS releases we cannot grant you access to use the wired network. If you connect a desktop or laptop to your network OIT security will flag it and block your MAC address with no network access unless the system is updating. To aid in keeping systems on Duke compliant has implemented the endpoint client management apps.
Best Practices
Keep your system updated with the latest security updates and patches for your OS.
Keep your Malware/Spyware which includes virus protection up to date. (Duke faculty, staff, and students – more info.)
How to Get Access?
Please submit a ticket with your MAC address for your laptop or desktop along with the machine name.
