Computing resources at Duke University are provided by several groups across campus.  The most common needs are going to be met by the following groups:

Trinity Economics Computing Support These are the IT staff directly working in the Department of Economics.

  • When in doubt, start with.  When unable to provide support directly, they will attempt to direct you to the right place.
  • Support for most desktop operations for faculty and staff, including computer-to-network port connectivity.
  • Limited support for Ph.D. and Master’s student desktop questions.
  • Support for the Economics Computing Cluster.
  • Support for the Bowling alley and driving range interactive lab systems.

Social Sciences Research Institute (SSRI)

SSRI brings together researchers with interests in problems that cross the various social and behavioral sciences, including problems that connect with the humanities and natural sciences.

  • SSRI provides the most expertise as relates to sensitive data computing at Duke for social science disciplines.

Office of Information Technology (OIT) This is the largest and most centralized computing organization at Duke.  They provide a variety of services.  A short list includes:
