Rachel Monteverdi

Facilitator of Learning: Training & Development
Office of Research Administration – Duke University School of Medicine

Rachel Monteverdi’s greatest passion is ‘Empowering People, Providing Solutions’ – a mantra she embraced about 20 years ago.  As she transitioned from the corporate world to serving as Field Faculty for NC State University, Rachel quickly learned the importance of facilitating positive, interactive, engaging educational sessions for very diverse audiences.  Simultaneously, Rachel grasped the criticality of securing grant funding from federal, state, local, and other sources.  The goal was to make a difference and create positive impacts based on the greatest needs of the communities she served.  Rachel’s work has included various positions within higher education, nonprofit, governmental, corporate and community-based initiatives.  From serving as Chair/President of organizations to #1 Cheerleader/Coach of individuals, Rachel believes in purpose-driven activities.  Currently, Rachel sets the direction for Duke University’s Office of Research Administration’s training.  She advocates for training excellence and assesses knowledge/performance gaps while redesigning all courses to transform ‘dry’ content into interactive, blended learning sessions.  The goal is to work collaboratively with others to eventually show the degree to which targeted outcomes are realized for Duke University.

Rachel earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, a Master’s Degree in Human Development & Leadership Administration, and is currently in pursuit of a Doctorate Degree in Adult Education. She is the award recipient of a national award for team facilitation. Rachel holds multiple certifications and licenses, and is especially driven by her work with Franklin Covey & the Seven Habits of Highly Effective People.
