Joan Dupont has devoted her entire career in support of learning. She joined the Duke Clinical Research Institute (DCRI) in 2009 as a Learning Consultant bringing with her 25 years of experience in training and education. Joan was promoted to Senior Learning Consultant in December 2011 and Manager of Organizational Learning in August 2012. Joan currently teaches Conducting Performance Reviews and Leading at the DCRI, which is based on Kouzes and Posner’s 5 Practices of Exemplary Leadership®. Prior to joining the DCRI, Joan served as president of her own training and consulting company for ten years and focused on designing and delivering learning solutions in the pharmaceutical industry. She also taught for fifteen years at Owensboro Community College (University of Kentucky Community College System), where she progressed through the academic ranks, becoming a full professor and serving as Chair for the Division of Business, Engineering and Mathematics. Joan received a Ph.D. in Educational Policy Studies & Evaluation from the University of Kentucky. She earned her Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts in Education degrees in Business Education from Western Kentucky University.
