Dr. Rochelle Newton

Senior Manager IT, School of Law

Rochelle Newton is a Senior Manager IT at the School of Law at Duke University. She is responsible for Systems and Helpdesk support. These duties include developing and maintaining Duke Law’s identity management, network, servers, faculty, staff, and student, and security systems, and end user services.  Rochelle also has a dotted line responsibility to the Media and Web Services Groups in Academic Technologies.  Rochelle is also a member of the Law School’s law and technology committee and works to enhance law and technology in the law school.  Rochelle serves on several committees at Duke including Food Accessibility and  Academic Assessment.  Rochelle is also Duke College Advisor.  Rochelle holds two bachelor’s degrees – English and Psychology (Bas); a masters degree in Public Administration (EMPA); and a doctorate in Higher Education Administration Leadership (Ed.D).  Rochelle completed Duke’s Leadership Academy in 2013 (DLA).  Rochelle co-chaired Duke’s TechExpo in 2014.  Rochelle is a member of the American Association of Law Schools (AALS) Technology Section.  Rochelle is a board member of the North Carolina State Employees Credit Union (NCSECU).   Rochelle is a member of Durham Public Schools Career and Technical Education (CTE) Board.  Rochelle has published several articles and is currently writing a book on race in technology.  Rochelle is married with two children.
