Want to get into the spirit before embarking on our trip? Check out these Danish film and show recommendations. They are a fun way to get a taste for the Danish language and culture. Just remember that these programs represent Danish views and cultural issues as much, and as little as US shows and films are representative of the US as a whole. So enjoy but be careful not to confuse artistic license with truth. Also be careful to watch the ORIGINALS: several of these shows have since been remade in “US settings” for a US audience (which usually results in them being squeezed 
into the cookie-cutter entertainment mold that caters to the lowest common denominator in the US market, sigh). If you limit yourself to shows only in English (the shows here are in Danish with English subtitles, or dubbed but with the option to watch in the original language) you are robbing yourself of much of the best and sophisticated entertainment the world has to offer.
