About the Consortium
The Duke Kunshan University Neuroscience Consortium, in collaboration with Kunshan First People’s Hospital, is a multidisciplinary research initiative dedicated to advancing brain science across cognitive, molecular, and computational domains. Our laboratory integrates cutting-edge approaches—including in vivo electrophysiology, calcium imaging, behavioral assays, and AI-driven modeling—to investigate fundamental mechanisms of memory, learning, and circadian regulation in rodent models. In cognitive neuroscience, we explore high-level processes such as episodic memory and metacognition using multimodal neuroimaging and neural circuit manipulations. Molecular neuroscience efforts focus on synaptic plasticity, neurodevelopmental pathways, and light-mediated neuromodulation, while computational frameworks bridge experimental data with theoretical insights to decode complex neural dynamics. By partnering with clinicians, we translate laboratory discoveries into clinical applications for neurodegenerative and psychiatric disorders, leveraging the hospital’s expertise in patient-centered research. Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and embedded in Duke Kunshan’s global academic network, our Consortium fosters innovation at the intersection of basic science and therapeutic development, cultivating a dynamic environment for interdisciplinary discovery.
