The fish-tailed cap is one of the three major caps in Daoist tradition (the other two are yuqing lianhua guan 玉清蓮花冠 [Yuqing lotus cap] and shangqing furong guan 上清芙蓉冠 [Shangqing hibiscus cap], symbolizing the high status of the Taiqing 太清lineage. It can only be worn by highly accomplished ritual masters with profound mastery of magical techniques or the leaders of Daoist sects and can only worn by Daoist masters of the Taiqing lineage.

The middle one is a Daoist master waring yuwei jin guan.
