Yulu 玉露 [jade dew]

The original text is yulu 玉露 [jade dew]. The term yulu xiongjiang 玉露瓊漿 [jade dew and fine jade liquid] is a byword for wine. It is a mythical belief that drinking this jade liquid will make someone immortal. The term appears in Song Yu’s 宋玉 (298 BCE—222BCE) famous poems of the Verses of Chu 楚辞Zhaohun 招魂 [Summons of the Soul]: Having arranged luxurious spoons, there is some fine jade liquid 華酌既陳有瓊漿些. And also Wang Yi王逸 (89158) Jiusi 九思 [Nine Thoughts]Sucking jade liquid to quench my thirst; biting Lingzhi flowers to feed my hunger 吮玉液兮止渴囓芝華兮療飢.
