Xingling is a type of drinking game and caiquan is another. Xingling means playing a drinker’s wager game. Generally, it means that one person is elected as the lingguan 令官to give one line of a poem or a pair of antithetical phrases, and the rest would listen to the order and take turns to say the lines to complete the poem or antithetical phrase. Those who violate the order or fail to come up with a line will be punished with a drink. Caiquan means guessing the total number of fingers put out by one’s self and opponent.
