Meet the Committee

Established in 2014, Duke China-U.S. Summit (DCUS) is the largest China-U.S. themed conversation at Duke University. Having featured 80+ distinguished speakers ranging from academic experts to industry veterans as well as international leaders, the summit engages hundreds of attendees yearly in constructive discourses that provide insights and spark inspirations, covering a full range of topics that lie at the heart of the China-U.S. collaboration, including technology, business, education and more. The Summit is organized by a committee of undergraduate & graduate students from different colleges and schools at Duke, including Trinity College of Arts & Sciences, Pratt School of Engineering, Fuqua School of Business, Duke University School of Law and Duke Kunshan University.

Hongyi Zou
President

Hongyi Zou, from Beijing, China. Duke-Duke Kunshan dual degree student. He is a graduate student at Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs, pursuing a master's degree in international finance and economic policy. Hongyi has worked at Boston Consulting Group, Roland Berger Strategy Consultants, and Deloitte Strategic Consulting, and was a member of the organizing committee of the 2022 Duke China-US Summit Business Development Department.

Shen Shen
Co-President

Shen Shen is an undergraduate student pursuing a bachelor's degree in Political Economy at Duke Kunshan University, expecting to graduate in 2024. Shen's academic career has been characterized by a strong emphasis on the synergistic development of economic development and environmental protection, and she has over thirty months of research assistant experience in related fields. As a UN Millennium Fellow, she devoted herself to energy transition and environmental protection initiatives.

Yuhan Xue
Panel Development Director

Yuhan Xue is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Political Economy with the track of Economics at Duke Kunshan University. She conducts quantitative research in the field of applied economics and innovation. She assisted DKU Campus Activities Board to coordinate events for the Spring 2022 term.

Emma Yun
Promotion Design Director

Emma Yun is a student worker at Duke Kunshan University pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Global China Studies with a Track in Political Science. She was a speaker for DKU Humanities Research Center’s China in the World Conference’s Contemporary China panel and is passionate about studying how globalization impacts cross-cultural learning and disparately benefits certain communities.

Yanming Shen
Finance Operation Director

Yanming (Peter) Shen is currently a junior student majoring in Data Science at Duke Kunshan University. He has a wide interest in natural science to Chinese history. In the past years he devoted his vacations for volunteering for rural high school students in China and provide them with continuous support. He is the Millennium Fellow of DKU this year.

Tong Yu

Tong Yu, from Beijing, China. Duke Kunshan University undergraduate student from the Class of 2025. Majoring Media and Arts with creative practice track. Currently working for Duke Kunshan University SMC (student media center) as student worker, devoted into photography, film production and graphic design.

Faith Ho

Faith Ho is a rising junior pursuing a dual degree in Political Economy and Public Policy at Duke and Duke Kunshan University. She was part of the inaugural cohort of Millennium Fellows from Duke Kunshan Univeristy.

Anastasia Nikolova

Ana Nikolova, a passionate advocate for marginalized communities, is a versatile individual with a background in political economy and development. She is currently pursuing Data Science at Duke Kunshan University.

Yiming Yuan

Yiming Yuan is pursuing a bachelor's degree at Duke Kunshan University. She is a research assistant, applying data analysis to extreme weather. She works in the Office of Communication, being responsible for communication and content creation.

Selina Wu

Selina Wu is from the Class of 2026 at Duke Kunshan University. She is intended to take Political Economy as a future major. She has participated in the economic research project organized by Nanjing University and studied the sharing economy with many experienced professors.

Tianyu Xu

Tianyu Xu is a rising junior at Duke Kunshan University, majoring in behavioral science/ psychology. She interned as a content developer at PEER Experience Exchange Rostrum, an NGO focused on county education in China.

Soumya Lahoti

Soumya Lahoti is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computation and Design, with a track in computer science at Duke Kunshan University. She is a guest speaker liaison with the DKU Women in STEM and a part of the DKU Alumni Board.

Taisiya Rozenshteyn

Taisiya (Taya) Rozenshteyn is a rising junior in the Political Economy Bachelor Program with a track in Economics at Duke Kunshan University. This summer she is excited to start working on research at the Luohan Academy, an Alibaba group research institute.

Niyati Kapadia

Niyati Kapadia is a rising sophomore from the Chicagoland area, United States, studying Computation and Design with a track in Computer Science at Duke Kunshan University. She has worked extensively with Northwestern University to develop accessible technology-based neuroscience curricula for Chicago Public Schools.

Yixin Gou
Promotional Design

Yixin Gou studies Political Economy with the track of Economics at Duke Kunshan University and she is a rising junior. She has interned at EY, LSEG and CITIC securities. Her career interests lie in economics, finance and behavioral science and is working to publish research on behavioral economics with a professor in University of Cambridge.

Guang Yang is an accomplished undergraduate pursuing a degree in Applied Mathematics & Computational Sciences/Math from Duke Kunshan University. With strong leadership skills, he excelled as a Team Leader in the Budweiser Challenge. Guang's Campus Ambassador role for Johnson&Johnson showcased his organizational abilities.

Zhiyao Li studies political economy with the track Economics at Duke Kunshan University (DKU). She is an event manager in the Student Alumni Board at DKU that hosted alumni sharing sessions with more than 300+ undergraduates attended.

Yuan Shan is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Data Science at Duke Kunshan University. Yuan has interned at the Technical Department of the Beijing Olympics Organizing Committee, Tencent Video's Data Science Department, and the Life Simulation Research Center at the Beijing Academy of Artificial Intelligence.
