A key part Duke Cancer Institute’s overall mission, as a National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, is to reduce the burden of cancer and promote health equity, beginning with communities in DCI’s diverse catchment area. Duke Center Institute (DCI) has a division for community outreach, engagement, and equity (COEE). This team works on ways to reach out to the community and bring awareness to different types of cancer and cancer health through health screenings, community events, roundtables, and research.
