PROSPECTIVE PH.D. STUDENTS

If you are interested in working with Professor Craig (or anyone in the Psychology department), you can find information about the PhD program here and the application process here.

Professor Craig is open to accepting new PhD students for the 2024 application cycle (to begin studies at Duke in Fall 2025)! If you are interested in contributing to our research, please do apply! You can find if you are eligible for the application fee waiver here.

Professor Craig does not engage with applicants outside of the formal application process in an effort to keep things fair for those who might not know to reach out. To gauge research fit, you can find our most recent papers available on the publications and research pages of the lab website. To gauge mentorship and lab culture fit, you can find the introduction to our lab manual here.

CURRENT DUKE GRADUATE STUDENTS

If you are currently a graduate student at Duke who is interested in working with Professor Craig, please feel free to contact her directly by email.

RESEARCH ASSISTANT OPPORTUNITIES

Research assistant opportunities include volunteer work, independent study (for course credit), honors research, and summer research opportunities. We are seeking students who demonstrate conscientiousness, commitment, a willingness to learn, and an interest in research. To learn more about this lab's research, please view our lab Research page. Responsibilities for research assistants include running experiments to collect data, data entry and coding, research stimuli and survey creation, and assisting with literature searches. Research assistants work primarily with doctoral students in the lab and contribute to the research process while gaining valuable research experience.

No previous research experience is necessary; however, it is helpful for students to have had at least taken Introductory Psychology (PSY 101) and Introduction to Statistical Methods in Psychology (PSY 201L).

If you would like to be considered for a Research Assistant position, please complete our application form online. If there are any available openings, we will contact you to schedule an interview. If you have questions, please contact the lab at  duke.dasp.lab@gmail.com

There are several ways to participate in the ongoing research within the lab to receive academic course credit or as an Honors Program student, you can find out more information here.

If you aim to complete an Honors Thesis, or hope to obtain course credit, it is a good idea to start working in the lab early, as we strongly recommend students to have worked as a research assistant in the lab for at least one semester before pursuing these opportunities.
