
Ching Zhu, MD, PhD

Dr. Zhu is a physician-scientist focused on advancing therapy for heart rhythm disorders. She completed her undergraduate studies at Harvard University, her MD degree at Stanford University, and her PhD at the University of California, Los Angeles. She completed her medical training at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center/Harvard Medical School and the University of California, Los Angeles. Her laboratory studies neuronal control of cardiac arrhythmia susceptibility, and she is also a practicing clinical electrophysiologist specializing in cardiac device implantation and catheter ablation of arrhythmias.

Dr. Emilio Y. Lucero, Postdoctoral Associate
Emilio is from Mexico City, where he obtained his MD degree and master’s in pharmacology at the National Polytechnic Institute, Superior School of Medicine. He continued his scientific training with a Fulbright-sponsored PhD in pharmacology at the University of Houston, Texas. His scientific expertise is the signaling of G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) during cardiac pathology and inflammation and testing novel allosteric modulators targeting GPCRs as a potential treatment for cardiovascular diseases.
