Lightning Talks (30 minutes)
A series of brief, dynamic presentations from invited Duke researchers focusing on innovative ideas, ongoing projects, or emerging trends in climate research at Duke in areas as seemingly divergent as Arts, engineering, and law. This segment is designed to spark curiosity and set the stage for deeper discussions throughout the event. Here are some of the talks (in no particular order):

  • Health + climate: Catherine Staton, Professor of Emergency Medicine, School of Medicine

Facilitated World Café (1.5-2 hours)
Engage in a World Café style event, an interactive session designed to encourage conversation and idea exchange among participants. Christy Gharbo, founder of VizualWorx, will facilitate this session, guiding participants through a series of rotating table discussions. This format allows for collaborative problem-solving and the generation of new ideas from diverse perspectives. VizualWorx specializes in graphic facilitation, ensuring that your ideas will be captured visually in real-time, enhancing the collaborative process.
