I’m a post-doc in the lab. I’m from Japan. My research interest is how glycosylation is regulated and impacts on cellular physiology. I love hanging out with my friends for coffee and dinner.
Hailed originally from Yangon, Myanmar and did his undergraduate at the College of Wooster, OH. Current projects: 1) Identifying novel chemical inhibitors of UDP-Galactose 4 epimerase and studying the role of the enzyme in mucin biosynthesis. 2) Studying the role of O-GlcNAc in protein-protein interactions and function. Activities outside of lab: shopping, traveling, coffee, tea, wine, matcha, concerts, cooking, scrolling twitter.
Grew up in Hendersonville, North Carolina. Obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Biology at Swarthmore College. Interests: my dog, glycobiology, Duke basketball, Panera sip club, Costco. Hoping to learn more about potato fries from honorary postdoc Naoya Hirata.
Quyen graduated with a Bachelor’s in Biochemistry from the University of Florida, where she previously studied the pathogenesis of norovirus under Dr. Stephanie Karst. She now investigates the role of glycosylation in regulating protein trafficking and mucosal barriers. Outside of lab, Quyen likes to rollerskate, paint, do jigsaw puzzles, and explore nature.
I am an undergraduate researcher with a strong interest in small molecules and drug discovery. I plan to continue pursing research while working toward an MD, with the goal of serving patients at the bedside. Outside of lab, I love going to the gym and playing sports with friends.
I am an undergrad in the Boyce Lab, interested in regulation of nucleotide-sugar pools and its clinical manifestations. After undergrad, I’m hoping to complete an MD/PhD and work as a physician-scientist. In my free time, I like going to Duke basketball games, reading, and drinking coffee!
I love joining the lab for special events such as lab dinner, retreat, and holiday party. I also love French fries, ice cream, and Carowinds!
