ABOUT

The Design POD is a makerspace and engineering design lab affiliated with Duke’s Pratt School of Engineering. It is located in the Levine Science Research Center (LSRC B110), and is home to several Engineering classes. Keycard access is from 6am to 10pm, everyday of the week. Look at staff hours for specialty equipment use.

QUICK LINKS

HOW DO I GET ACCESS?

please note: access is cleared at the end of each semester.

For students who are enrolled in a class based out of the POD:
Step 1: Enroll in the Pratt Passport: duke.is/pratt-passport

Step 2: Complete Safe and Skillful 101 module and pass quiz.

Step 3: Complete POD Orientation module and pass quiz

All Others (students who don’t have classes based here):
Use the Co-Lab or Foundry. Access to the POD will not be given for personal projects. If the Foundry or Co-Lab can’t meet your needs for classwork, email dagan.trnka@duke.edu with your professor cc’d. In your email, share why the Co-Lab or Foundry do not meet your needs. The fact that the Foundry is slightly further away is not an accepted reason. Upon approval, you will need to complete the online orientations (steps above).
