What is the Carolinas Conference?

The Carolinas Conference is the biggest yearly event for Duke’s ASCE chapter. The event is a 4-day conference in which students can compete against teams from across the region in various civil engineering-related competitions. These activities vary in scope, with some requiring a commitment over the entire year or semester and others requiring no prior preparation. In addition to competing, students can network, meet civil engineering students from other schools, and attend professional workshops about the civil engineering profession! As students compete in teams and as individuals, each earns points for their respective school’s team. The school with the most points at the end of the conference then advances to the National American Society of Civil Engineers conference.
