• 1. Where will the hackathon be held?
  • The hackathon will be held in-person on November 7th-9th, 2025 at the Wikinson building on Duke University’s campus. Please check the schedule page for specific rooms and activities.

  • 2. Where should I park?
  • The Bryan Center (PG4) Parking Garage and the Bryan Center Surface Lot (which uses a separate parking app) are the closest parking lots to the Wilkinson Building. Further visitor parking information can be found at the Duke Parking & Transportation website.
  • Parking near the Wilkinson building is limited. If possible, options other than parking are encouraged (public transportation, ride sharing, etc.).

  • 3. Is this hackathon in-person only?
  • Yes it is! We expect all participants to be on-site for at least the kickoff portion of the event on Friday afternoon/evening and the judging portion of the event on Sunday morning.

  • 3. Can non-Duke students participate?
  • Yes, we welcome and encourage students from other local North Carolina universities to join us for this event. However, all participants must be on-site for the kickoff and judging portions of the event. Fully remote team members from out of state are not permitted. 

  • 4. What is the pre-registration deadline?
  • Pre-registration for this event is first-come, first-served. Pre-registration will close at 400 registrants.
  • Limited day-of registrations may be accepted at the start of the event on Friday afternoon/evening. If you are interested in day-of registration, please stop by Wilkinson 021 Auditorium at 4 pm on Friday, November 7th.

  • 5. Is there a registration fee for this event?
  • This is a free event.

  • 6. How do teams work?
  • Teams can have a maximum of 4 members and can be formed before or during the event. Teams can choose any one of the tracks available on the main page.

  • 7. What if I’ve never hacked before?
  • We hope you’ll choose us for your first hackathon! We encourage students from both technical and non-technical backgrounds to attend. We have some helpful resources to help get beginners up and going. Vibe coding and other low-code approaches are welcome.

  • 8. Will this event reimburse my travel, parking, etc.?
  • Unfortunately, we cannot sponsor travel or other expenses for participants.
