We conduct community-engaged research to identify gaps in teen depression treatment and leverage implementation science methods to develop family- and organization-focused strategies that will address barriers.
Our goal is to eliminate inequities in depression, particularly among Latino youth through partnerships with community and healthcare organizations.
The ADAPT-A team is comprised of bilingual and bicultural researchers who are committed to addressing adolescent mental health inequities.
We value community-engagement, a focus on sustainable implementation of interventions, use of multiple methods to understand perspectives, and recognizing the strengths of the communities we serve.
We work with people in the community during research to make sure we create effective and long-lasting strategies.
We use methods from implementation science to make sure more teens can get mental health treatments that are proven to work.
We use different ways to understand what people need when working on plans to help teenagers with mental health. We look at numbers as well as personal experiences and opinions of those involved.
We work together with teens, their families, and their communities to create plans that use everyone's strengths.
