| Ms. Mugweru has over 10 years of increasing advance care planning experience in academic, legal, and medical settings. Her work focuses on translating the research of university palliative care experts into conversational programs on end-of-life care for faith leaders within the local faith community. She currently works for New Chapter Ventures, a non-profit that helps churches transition their underutilized spaces into community resources of social and economic impact. Ms. Mugweru continues to work as a consultant for the Theology, Medicine, and Culture Initiative at Duke Divinity School, where she was a Postdoctoral Associate for two years, researching health inequities across health care through the Advance Care Planning and Healthy Living Through Faith program. Ms. Mugweru served as a hospice chaplain in Albuquerque, NM, a hospital chaplain in Orlando, FL, and a prison and jail chaplain in Winston-Salem, NC.
