| Dean Bell focuses her research on identifying challenges, recognizing patterns, and developing systems that improve patient experiences and outcomes of care. Her interest in the social determinants of health led to an enriching partnership with the AC Care Alliance, a faith-based non-profit organization that helps persons needing advanced illness care, and their caregivers, manage their spiritual health, advance care planning, and social needs. Together, they co-created an innovative model for care navigation within congregations. Dean Bell holds a joint appointment as Director for the Doctor of Philosophy program at the UC Davis School of Nursing, and she is widely cited in various publications and media, including the New York Times, Reuters, NBC Nightly News, and National Public Radio. |
