Dean Ramsey is a nurse attorney and a nationally recognized expert in bioethics, research ethics, nursing education and practice, and health disparities.  She has over 20 years of interdisciplinary scholarship directing national projects focusing on end-of-life care and advance care planning for African-American patients/families, and persons with disabilities.  For her “lifetime of work,” Dean Ramsey earned the 2019 Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Black Nurses Association (NBNA).  She has also made significant contributions to military health care as a member of the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center Ethics Committee.
