Reverend Ford is an ordained Itinerant Elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Church with over 30 years of experience serving in pastoral and chaplaincy roles.  Her research explores the intersections of church and society, churches as social institutions, and the response to domestic violence in the AME Church.  Reverend Ford holds joint positions in the Department of Africana Studies at SUNY Stony Brook and is an Associate Chaplain in greater New York area hospitals.  She regularly consults with a large network of African American pastors on issues related to new ministry development and spiritual direction.  She is also a contributing author on two books: “Releasing Strongholds, Letting Go of What’s Holding You Back,” and, “Surviving Shipwrecks: Weathering the Storms of Life.”
