We elected to look at a few countries and their data in an effort to bring more light into some of the most prominent soccer teams in the world and how they scored on the various metrics that we choose to analyze for this project. We chose five countries that are considered contenders at this summer’s world cup but that should all exhibit some differences in the metrics that we chose to measure. First we selected the two favorites this summer: the hosts France and the defending champions the United States. We then selected Japan and Brazil as the only top 10 countries from Asia and South America, respectively. And lastly we chose Sweden, the top ranked Nordic team, a region full of women’s soccer powerhouses.
