At the beginning of each academic year, WLSA selects a number of 1Ls and LLMs to serve as Representatives. Serving as a 1L or LLM Representative is a great opportunity to become more involved with one of Duke Law’s most active student organizations. Responsibilities include event planning, helping with event logistics, attending WLSA board meetings, and helping WLSA further its mission of creating community and empowering women on campus. 1L Reps
Gannat Mukhtar
Gannet is from Linden, New Jersey. She attended Notre Dame from undergrad, where she graduated in 2024 with degrees in American Studies and Global Affairs. In between undergrad and law school, Gannat taught English in Estepona, Spain for one year. In her free time, Gannet enjoys hosting themed events, working out, and doing Sudoku puzzles.
Halle Swasing
Halle is from Erie, Pennsylvania and graduated from Cornell University in 2024 with a degree in government. Before law school, Halle completed a year of service with AmeriCorps and also worked as an admissions reader for Cornell. In her free time, Halle enjoys hiking, kayaking, and paddleboarding.
Leila Safieddine
Leila is from Lebanon and attended Georgetown University, where she graduated in 2024 with a double major in Economics and Political Sciences. Before law school, Leila worked as a litigation paralegal in DC. In her free time, Leila enjoys playing soccer, going to pilates, writing poetry, and cooking.
Carly Lehman
Carly is from Cleveland, Ohio. She attended Harvard and graduated in 2025 with degrees in government and literature. In her free time, Carly enjoys trying new coffee shops, playing pickup sports, and card games!
Amel Weaver
Amel is from Houston, Texas. She attended UT Austin and graduated in 2022 with a degree in sociology. Before law school, Amel worked as Assistant Director of Admissions at Southern Methodist University in the Cox School of Business.
Outside of school, Amel enjoys yoga, dance, hanging with friends, game nights, and finding new artists/good music.
Cassie Anzalone
Cassie is from New Jersey. She graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 2020, where she studied Political Science and Arabic. Right after graduating from college, Cassie worked for a legal consulting firm sourcing expert witnesses for trial. She then pivoted to preparing immigration documentation for professionals and worked at an employment law firm preparing for mediations and working on plaintiff-side client files. In her free time, Cassie enjoys running, hiking, cooking and trying new restaurants.
Richa Parikh
Richa is from Niles, Illinois and graduated from Claremont McKenna College in 2024 with a degree in Philosophy, Politics, Economics.
Before law school, Richa did a research masters on sexual harassment law in New Zealand. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, running, trying new cafes!
Molly Daly
Molly is from Barcelona, Spain. She attended Georgetown University and graduated in 2024 with a degree in International Economics. Before law school, Molly worked as an analyst at a boutique litigation firm in New York. Outside of school, Molly enjoys playing pool (billiards), going for runs, playing tennis, watching soccer (viva barcelona!), exploring comedy spots, and watching movies.

Diane Berthou
Diane is from Paris, France. She attends Panthéon-Assas University and is graduating in May 2026. Diane is pursuing the Duke LLM as part of her third year exchange. Outside of school, Diane enjoys skiing, running, doing pilates, drawing, and reading.
