France Manager

Didier Deschamps

Didier Deschamps, in his playing days, was a glorified midfielder for both club and country. Along with appearing for big names such as Chelsea and Juventus, Deschamps wore the armband Les Bleus during their 1998 World Cup trophy run. As for his career on the sidelines, the former French captain managed the likes of Monaco, Juventus, and Marseille before getting the call from the national team in 2012. Under Raymond Domenech and Laurent Blanc, the French quite infamously failed to live up to the massive hype in the wake of their 2006 World Cup finals appearance. However, Deschamps has turned the rides in his term, coinciding with a stunning incursion of premier young talent. Will 2018 be the year that Les Bleus finally achieve what they are capable of, restoring France to the apex of football to which their skipper carried them 20 years ago?
