Keane is going to be another one of the seasoned veterans at the European Championship this summer. At 35 years of age, Keane is no spring chicken. He is coming off an injury to his knee, but he is expected to be at full health for Martin O’Neill’s side come June. A legend in his own right, if he is healthy expect him to be playing. He has scored 67 goals in 143 caps for the Northern Ireland national team. He is the top scorer of all time in European Championship qualification matches and is the fifth highest scorer ever in European history. Keane is capable of playing in any role along the front line as he is very crafty in creating goal scoring opportunities. He has good pace and dribbling skills, which will be vital to helping control the tempo against some of the quicker more experienced teams in the group such as Germany and Poland. He has played well in the MLS since arriving in Los Angeles 5 years ago. However, despite his success questions concerning his fitness have been raised, and the issues with his knee will surely keep them coming. Regardless, watch out for Keano this summer in France.
