How to become a DWN member:
- Join us at our DWN kick-off meetings (one at the beginning of each academic semester), at our chapter meetings, or events.
- If you missed the last DWN chapter meeting and are eager to activate your membership, e-mail us at waternetwork@duke.edu so we can add you to the DWN listserv!
You’re now a DWN, but are wondering how to take a more active role in DWN? Here are some tips on how to more actively engage:
- Run for a DWN officer position – Officers are elected each year based on popular vote by the members. The election processes typically occurs early on in the spring semester. The officer positions include Co-Presidents (2), Networking Liaisons (2 ), Treasurer (1), Dual-Degree Rep (1), PhD Rep (1), First Year Rep (2).
- Even if you’re not an officer, there are abundant leadership opportunities you can pursue. DWN encourages any member to propose ideas for events you think DWN should host. Share your idea during one of the DWN chapter meetings or email the current officers at waternetwork@duke.edu.
