What is Archaeology?

In this section, it may be helpful to pull up pictures of examples of artifacts from an archaeological site. Show them pictures of archaeologists in excavations or recovered bones, tools, pottery, etc.


Star Points

Star Points:

We see the first star in this section. Throughout the guide, you will several stars with a number of points labeled inside. Make an interactive system out of the stars. For example: If a student can answer this question in class, they can receive all of the points. If they do not know the answer, have them go home and do some research with their parents. If they come back with a correct answer, they can receive half of the points.

Take Home Challenge:

Have them play archaeologist at home! They can ask their parents to hide little “artifacts” in a bucket of sand or some other material.
