About the Duke Initiative for Urban Studies

The Duke Initiative for Urban Studies (“Duke Urban Studies”) examines the role of cities in human society and their implications for our urban future. Urban Studies integrates and fosters innovation in related research, education, and engagement across Duke’s schools and global network by adopting an interdisciplinary approach to understanding how cities intersect with specific facets of culture, economics, history, health, arts, and more.
