Ellerbe Creek
Ellerbe Creek Watershed Association is an organization seeking to improve the water quality of urban creeks and streams throughout the Ellerbe Creek Watershed by promoting sound stormwater management practices in downtown Durham.
With programs like Creek Smart, ECWA is preserving urban green spaces surrounding the creek, and working with the community members and organizations to improving water management practices in the urban landscape. They do this through promoting bioretention installations and other Creek Smart activities (e.g. rain gardens, stormwater collection cisterns).
