A clinical trial for adults with heart disease and worry, stress, or anxiety.
UNWIND is a clinical trial examining the effects of aerobic exercise and medication on symptoms of worry, stress, and anxiety in adults with coronary heart disease. Qualified individuals are randomly assigned (like flipping a coin) to one of three groups: Aerobic Exercise, Escitalopram (Lexapro), or Placebo. Each group lasts for three months. Both before and after the three-month intervention, participants will complete cardiovascular and psychological assessments at Duke University Medical Center.
