Computer Technology:
Microsoft Office products (Excel, Access, Powerpoint) and SAP Performance
Management Tool for DUHS Managers.

Professional Development:
New courses: Managing Meetings Effectively, Train the Trainer 1 – The Basics of Training, and Train the Trainer 2 – Designing Training. Additional courses: Communicating with Diplomacy and Tact, Customer Service Excellence, Fundamentals of Business Writing, Managing Multiple Priorities, Notary Public, Personality and Effective Communication, Professional Branding, and Project Management Fundamentals.

Leadership and Management:
New courses: Building Trust in the Workplace and Managing from the Middle. Additional courses: Documenting Employee Performance, Fundamentals of Coaching, Fundamentals of Feedback, Keys to Supervisory Success, and Leading with Emotional Intelligence.

Duke L&OD adds Excel Level 2 classes to fall schedule

Two Excel Level 2 classes (version 2010) have been added to Learning & Organization Development’s  Fall schedule on October 16 and November 12.  These are one-day classes starting at 8:30am and ending at 4:30pm, for a cost of $149.

With so many eLearning tools in the Duke landscape, choosing the best one for the purpose can be difficult. Now, the Saba Learning Management System will be rolled out to the University, as well as health system employees. Learn what an LMS is, how it will benefit Duke, how it will help managers develop employees, and where it fits in the Duke e-learning landscape.

Learn IT @ Lunch is designed to be an opportunity to learn about technology in a relaxed lunch environment.  Each session includes a presentation followed by Q & A.  No pre-registration is required. Seating is available on a first come, first served basis.  NOTE: Lunch is not provided. Feel free to bring a brown bag lunch.
