SNCF Hosts Voting Rights Teach-In at Duke

teach in 5 kachadoorianOn October 27, 2015, SNCF hosted a teach-in at the Duke Divinity School to educate students on the history of voting rights in North Carolina and to build support for an on-campus polling site. Speakers included Duke professors Bruce Orenstein and Gunther Peck, Southern Coalition for Justice Policy analyst Fred McBride, Adrienne Harreveld of the Samuel Du Bois Cook Center on Social Equity at Duke, and recently-elected City Council member Jillian Johnson. The event was covered in the Duke Chronicle, and an ongoing petition seeks support from the Duke administration for an on-campus polling site.
