Dan earned his BS in Biology from Bridgewater State University in 2013. As an undergraduate he worked in the lab of Dr. Jeffery Bowen and Dr, Merideth Krevosky where he studied environmental factors influencing cell death in cancer. Also as an undergraduate Dan spent three summers as a technician in the Central Microscopy Facility at the Marine Biological Laboratories at Woods Hole where he learned and practiced advanced imaging techniques. Dan came to Duke through the CMB Program and joined the Biology Department. In lab, Dan is working to understand the process of basement membrane-to-basement membrane adhesion as well as exploring various aspects of cell invasion. Outside of lab, he enjoys hiking, woodworking, and photography.
