Lian is a graduate student in the Sherwood Lab. She received her bachelor’s degree (Summa Cum Laude) from Baylor University, TX. She double majored in Biochemistry and Biology with a concentration in cell & molecular biology. She joined Myeongwoo Lee’s lab at Baylor as an undergraduate to study the RGD motifs of laminin and proline rich region in vinculin using C.elegans as a model organism. Currently, she is interested in the regulatory components in plasma membrane damage and repair during anchor cell invasion. Outside the lab, she enjoys playing PiPa, a Chinese traditional music instrument, and she is also a member of the Duke Chinese Music Ensemble.
