Research

I am an applied microeconomist with interests in Industrial Organization, technological change, and firm dynamics. My research is mainly concerned with the firms’ strategic responses to changing technological landscapes and the dynamic evolution of industries following the introduction of new technology. My methodological approach tries to combine reduced form with structural estimation to result in a better understanding of the forces shaping equilibrium market structure. One line of research analyzes differential response to online competition across traditional stores. A separate line of research focuses on the interaction of innovation and merger incentives in industries with rapid technological change.
