Hi everyone! My name is Anh Vo, and I’m a first-year student from Houston, Texas! I intend to major in Biology and minor in Psychology and Economics. I wanted to become a Help Desk Volunteer because I realize how important it is for marginalized communities to overcome the health and social inequities that they face by utilizing the vast resources that are available; I hope to bridge the gap between the negative impacts of various social determinants of health and social needs for these individuals. Through HelpDesk, I hope to compassionately build relationships with my patients, connect them to local resources, and learn more about how social factors shape health outcomes. Outside of volunteering and academics, I love to spend time with my friends and family, bake, and travel. After graduation, I hope to attend medical school to ultimately become a physician and serve my community.
