My name is Gloria Dalton and I am a junior studying Evolutionary Anthropology with a concentration in Human Biology and a minor in Chemistry. I wanted to become a Help Desk Volunteer because I am interested in the social determinants of health and the role they play in a patient’s care plan. I am passionate about the medical field expanding to view patients beyond their body and illness and to instead look at their life outside of the clinic and how that can be improved. I hope to gain more insight into the Durham community that Duke is a part of and play a role in improving a patient’s access to community resources. Outside of academics, I love to dance and read. I plan to attend medical school in the future and am particularly interested in specializing as an Ob/Gyn.
