My name is Laith Alhamid, and I’m a first-year student planning on majoring in Neuroscience with a Health Policy certificate on a pre-medical track. I joined Help Desk because I saw it as a great opportunity to build meaningful connections with the diverse population in Durham. I’m excited to learn how to better support individuals navigating barriers in access to healthcare and to grow my skills in interpersonal communication and advocacy for mental wellness in underresourced populations. In my free time, I love to play pickleball, try new foods, and watch TV! In the future, I hope to pursue a career as a physician where I can continue advocating for accessible, compassionate healthcare.
