Hi! My name is Julia, and I am a first year medical student at Duke! I graduated this past spring from Columbia with a degree in biochemistry and comparative literature. During my undergrad, I had the chance to work with a similar program to Help Desk, connecting those living in NYC with healthcare, food, housing, and education resources. Coming to Duke, I knew I wanted the opportunity to serve my new community in a similar manner. When I’m not studying, I love hiking and learning more about a potential career in global surgery.
