My name is Sanjit, and I’m a senior studying neuroscience and global health! I joined Help Desk because I wanted to gain more practical experience in a healthcare setting and directly understand the social determinants of health that members of the Durham community face. I hope to connect with that community and help patients from all backgrounds find resources that can improve their health, all while improving my own communication skills and cultural competence in the process. I’ll be attending medical school next fall, so I hope Help Desk will prepare me to engage with the diverse patient populations that I’ll inevitably encounter. Outside of school, I enjoy playing tennis and learning how to play the guitar!
