GOVIND GURNANI
Class of 2027
I am Govind Gurnani, a freshman here at Duke. I plan on majoring in biology and minoring evolutionary anthropology on a pre-med track. I really wanted to become a health desk volunteer to become more familiar with patient communication, a fundamental skill of every physician, and to learn about different backgrounds in a real world setting. As an aspiring physician who will likely spend most of his time in a hospital setting, I hope that I will enjoy being there and interacting with doctors, nurses and most importantly patients. As of right now, my future goal is to become a cardiothoracic surgeon, but this is highly tentative and I am considering other specialties like interventional radiology. Aside from that, I love scuba diving, free-diving and everything to do with the ocean.
