Duke professor Gary Gereffi, a Duke Rethinking Diplomacy Program affiliate, and Mark Anner, former guest at one of the DUCIGS Rethinking Diplomacy/Global Supply Chains webinars, will join the Forum for Macroeconomics and Macroeconomic Policies (FMM) annual conference this week.
The Forum for Macroeconomics and Macroeconomic Policies (FMM) organizes an annual conference that seeks to promote an exchange between competing theoretical paradigms and covers present debates on macroeconomic theories and issues. This year’s conference will be replaced by an online event – The Corona Crisis: Macroeconomic Implications and Policies for Sustainable Recovery from 28th to 30th October 2020 with online presentations and discussions by experts in the field. A total of nine moderated panel discussions will be held, covering topics ranging from the role of China in the global economy, across issues of economic growth and sustainability, to the debate about Modern Monetary Theory.
Gary Gereffi is the director of the Duke Global Value Chain Center. Mark Anner is Associate Professor of Labor and Employment Relations, and director of the Center for Global Workers’ Rights at Penn State. Gary Gereffi and Mark Anner will be speakers in the panel titled: ‘Global Value Chains after Corona’. This panel is scheduled on Friday, October 30, 2020 at 7 PM CET – 2 PM EST.
