2017 Retreat call for abstracts

Call for Abstracts

Regeneration Next and the DSCB program are pleased to invite abstract submissions for our joint annual retreat, which will be held at the Trent Semans Center on Nov 3, 2017. The retreat will feature invited speakers, platform talks, workshops, and a poster reception. Any Duke trainee or junior faculty with a research project related in some way to tissue regeneration is encouraged to submit an abstract. Abstracts will only be accepted from current Duke trainees and faculty.

Deadline for abstract submission: Sep 18, 2017 Now extended to Oct 1, 2017.

Acceptance notification date: Oct 20, 2017.

Submitted abstracts should reflect the broad field of tissue regeneration. All submissions will be reviewed and a number of abstracts will be chosen for platform presentation. We welcome submissions in all areas of regeneration research including developmental biology, regenerative biology, tissue engineering, and clinical applications. An informal “draw your poster” session will be held at 5pm, followed by hors d’ouvres, to encourage discussion among presenters and attendees.

Abstract requirements
The abstract should be a maximum of 3000 characters, excluding title, authors/advisor, and references. The abstracts should clearly describe the research problem being addressed, methods, preliminary results, and conclusions. Unpublished results are encouraged; the abstracts will not be posted online or electronically distributed.

Submission Deadline
All abstracts must be received by 11:59pm on Sep 18 Oct 1, 2017. Abstracts must be submitted through this form.  Emailed abstracts and late abstracts will not be accepted. If you are a trainee, please certify on the abstract submission form that you have obtained PI approval to present your research at the RNI retreat. If a primary author is unable to attend, a co-author may present the work.
