Congratulations to Dr. Ruvini Kurukulasooriya for being recognized in Duke Global Health Institute Impact Report

We are thrilled to congratulate Dr. Ruvini Kurukulasooriya, our Senior Research Scientist of the Duke-Ruhuna Collaborative Research Centre, for being featured in the Duke Global Health Institute’s (DGHI) latest Impact Report, Progress Through Partnership. Dr. Kurukulasooriya’s contributions to global health research in Sri Lanka under the Duke-Ruhuna Collaborative Research Centre, have been highlighted, emphasizing her leadership and impactful work on research.

As the overseer of administrative work at the Duke-Ruhuna Collaborative Research Centre, Dr. Kurukulasooriya has been a key figure in its development since joining as a research coordinator in 2011. She has contributed to a set of diverse projects focused on emerging infectious diseases, mental health, and occupational health. Her current focus is mainly on establishing a multidisciplinary research culture under one health concept. She is also the first person to earn a Ph.D. through the collaboration, receiving her doctorate in molecular microbiology from the University of Ruhuna in 2023.

Her recognition in the DGHI Impact Report is a proof of her dedication, creativity, and contributions.
