I want to say first that the talent in this show is incredible. This is my first time being involved in a Hoof n’ Horn and Theater Studies production and I am constantly blown away by the rehearsals. Furthermore, I am even more impressed at how hard working and close everyone is. It really feels like a family and I am happy to have met so many new people that otherwise I would have never gotten to meet.
This has been my first time stage managing and I feel like I’ve learned a lot. For example, I learned what it takes to tape down a set. It’s a lot like plotting points on a graph and just connecting the dots. In high school when I did musicals I never realized all the work that goes on behind the scenes into creating a show. It’s a huge task and now that I am part of that role I have a new respect for everyone that makes the production possible, especially for a huge show like Ragtime. I’m excited to come back after Spring and really jump into the process to see Ragtime become a full fledged reality
