Tamara Klintworth-Kirk

Tamara Klintworth-Kirk PT, DPT is the clinical services coordinator for the Department of Physical Therapy at Duke University Hospital. She received her bachelor’s degree in physical therapy from Russell Sage College in Troy, New York in 1996 and completed her Doctor of Physical Therapy from Winston Salem State University in North Carolina in May 2020. She is a board-certified clinical specialist in cardiovascular and pulmonary physical therapy. Her professional interests are early mobility in the ICU as well as ambulatory ECMO. She has previously presented at national conferences and has co-authored an article in the Cardiopulmonary Physical Therapy Journal on physical therapy management of a patient on portable extracorporeal membrane oxygenation. She is presently assisting in two research studies at Duke involving early mobility in the ICU and functional electrical stimulation. She assists with teaching at Duke’s DPT program. She is the co-coordinator for Duke’s Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Residency.
