Jake Awruch PT, DPT, OCS, FAAOMPT is a physical therapist at Duke Health. As a faculty member of Duke’s Manual Physical Therapy Fellowship program, he currently leads the Thoracic Spine section. In addition, he assists in teaching in the Duke Doctor of Physical Therapy program’s Manual Therapy Course as well as teaching a patient management course. Jake travels annually to Lima, Peru to teach and educate local physical therapists in Peru and to provide PT services to the underserved community there. He has completed a fellowship in orthopedic manual physical therapy and is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists. Jake is a board-certified specialist in orthopedics through the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and a member of the APTA. He is also certified through the Titleist Performance Institute, Selective Functional Movement Assessment Certified and Dry Needling Certified. He is the team physical therapist for a local D3 Men’s College Basketball team. Jake received both a Bachelor of Health Sciences degree and a Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy in 2010 and 2014 respectively from Quinnipiac University in Hamden, CT.
